DCS – Diversion Coordination Service

Since 2001 Redbourne has been providing a 24 x 7 state-wide Diversion Coordination Service to assist Queensland Police Service officers and the Department of Justice and Attorney General divert minor drug offenders to authorised health treatment providers rather than prison.

The software and telephony solution enabling this harm-minimisation practice manages over 13,000 calls per year with more than 90% of calls answered within 20 seconds. In addition, over 10,000 Diversion Appointments are arranged each year with over 100 health providers across Queensland.

This custom software solution includes a web-based, highly secure system accessible by authorised health providers, plus a full electronic document management, rule-based workflow and reporting system that tracks offender records, service provider appointment schedules and compliance, treatment data and trend analysis, system training and ongoing support.

“The Diversion Coordination Service (DCS) has been widely recognised and praised for the efficiency of its services in coordinating intervention appointment bookings in a prompt and timely manner.” (Qld Health 2005)
