Redbourne Group tests their business continuity plan.

Redbourne Group tests business continuity plans in the real world.

An abandoned bag discovered outside the offices of 960 Gympie Road Chermside, north Brisbane, required all occupants to evacuate the buildings while under Police direction.

The team at Redbourne Group were alerted by a Queensland Police Officer to evacuate just before 9am on Friday 8 November 2019.

The building evacuation gave the Redbourne Group staff an opportunity to enact their business continuity plan. A major focus of the plan is to provide ongoing support to all clients via phone and email, in a flexible and secure way.

Laptops, tablets and smartphones were all powered up and ready to connect with our diverse range of clients, from Family Day Care, to our Police and Court Diversion calls.

Stephen Menhinnitt, Managing Director and owner of the Redbourne Group said, “While the building evacuation caused disruption to our standard office day, I am grateful my managers and all staff demonstrated such flexibility and forward thinking in being able to provide continuous support to our customers.”

The building was declared safe to return after 11am, with Redbourne Group staff returning to their office soon after.

“As a software as a service business, it’s very important to be able to operate from another location when an emergency occurs,” Stephen said.

“Just like we experienced today, our cloud and off-site servers means we can provide support to our child care, health and community, Queensland Police and Queensland Health customers from anywhere without impacting their needs.”
