The Redbourne Group has two market-leading child care management systems and nearly 15 years’ experience in providing technology solutions and services to the Australian childcare industry.

From 2006 to 2011, Redbourne delivered a national hotline for the Australian child care industry after successfully winning a government contract with the former Australian Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA). During this time, we handled close to 500,000 calls annually.

Our team of professionals who have worked in all sectors of the child care industry was key to winning this federal contract and is part of our ongoing investment in the Australian childcare sector.

Providing the FaHCSIA Hotline Service gave us invaluable insight into the workings of the Australian child care sector, the challenges that Services and Educators face, and how under-served operators were by technology solutions and services.

Our child care management systems

In 2008, the Redbourne Group acquired and upgraded Child Care Central, turning it into the first web-based CCMS system, allowing Services to access the software online from anywhere at any time, removing numerous IT and security hurdles. This innovation was recognised with an Australian Business Award for e-business.

Over a decade later, Child Care Central is a total cloud-based solution for Centre Based Care (CBC) providers combining core business CCSS software with optional outsourced Admin Services. See our Child Care Central page for more details on this solution.

In 2009, the Redbourne Group assumed responsibility of KindCare, a self-hosted third-party CCMS application for Centre Based Care providers. Today this community of users are now served by Child Care Central.

In 2011 Harmony Software joined The Redbourne Group. At the time Harmony Software marketed three different versions of their product for Family Day Care Service Providers and educators.

In true Harmony/Redbourne Group style the program was re-developed with full consultation with the sector. In late 2015, Harmony Web, a single platform, cloud-based solution was launched providing a shared technology platform for both FDC Services and their Educators. The software was further enhanced in 2018 to accommodate the introduction of the new federal Child Care Subsidy. Discover more about Harmony Web.

Redbourne continues to introduce enhancements, new features and modules to both child care products which are charged on a highly affordable subscription basis.

Additionally, a key part of Redbourne’s commitment to the child care sector is recognising that many child care services and educators have limited IT staff or resources. Our products are designed to be highly intuitive and we offer telephone support, context sensitive inbuilt tutorials and webinars. We also offer mentoring and migration services. This is one of the ways we care to be different.
