From Brisbane’s north, onwards to Cairns, to Mount Isa in north western Queensland and south west to St George, thousands of kilometers were travelled in the quest to meet as many Service Providers and Queensland Police in each district.
Since July 2019 the Queensland Police Referrals District Engagement events visited the following regions – Brisbane North, Brisbane South, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Mount Isa, South West, Ipswich, Moreton, Townsville, Gold Coast, Mackay, Logan, Toowoomba and Dalby.
The aim of every event was to meet as many community Service Providers and the Queensland Police Officers who support their district.
The Queensland Police Referrals Program is a community service which connects vulnerable people in times of need with local community Service Providers to offer support.
Areas of support include but are not limited to, Domestic Violence, Mental Health, relationship challenges or homelessness.
The Referrals Management Coordination Team at Redbourne Group worked closely with Queensland Police Referrals to deliver meaningful events across the State, discuss local issues and suggest improvements to the program.
